On the 12th of November 2024, the Leo Club of Wickramasinghepura conducted Teeth Talk at Vidyaloka Vidyalaya,
Averihena. This impactful initiative focused on promoting oral health awareness and ensuring the well-being of
young students.
The day began with an engaging awareness session where students learned about the importance of maintaining
oral hygiene, the correct brushing techniques, and how to prevent common dental issues. Experienced
professionals shared their knowledge, making the session interactive and informative. Following this, a
comprehensive dental check-up was conducted for the students. Each child received personalized attention, and
any dental concerns identified were addressed with valuable guidance for follow-up care.
The project was a testament to the club's commitment to fostering healthier lifestyles among the younger
generation, leaving behind not just brighter smiles but also a deeper understanding of oral health.

The Leo Club of Wickramasinghepura proudly executed Wave Whispers, a two-phased initiative emphasizing
environmental sustainability.
The first phase took place on 17th November 2024 at Mount Lavinia Beach. Our fellow leos dedicated their
efforts to cleaning a sea turtle conservation area and meticulously restoring the tanks essential for turtle
care. The activity not only enhanced the habitat but also underscored the significance of preserving marine
life.
The second phase was conducted on 23rd November 2024 at NARA Mangroves, Negombo, in collaboration with MAS
Foundation for Change. This phase focused on mangrove conservation, reinforcing the ecological importance of
these natural barriers. The team participated in planting and preserving mangroves, ensuring the
sustainability of this vital ecosystem. Wave Whispers highlighted the club’s commitment to marine conservation
and fostered awareness about preserving biodiversity. It was a collective effort to protect nature’s whispers
for future generations.

NARA Mangroves - Negombo
On 24th November 2024, the Leo Club of Wickramasinghepura added a delicious twist to the Annual 306 C1 Lions
Get-Together at the NCC Grounds with the fundraising project, Bite Bistro.
The stall was a hub of enticing flavors, featuring an array of delightful treats including rich brownies,
aromatic chai tea, refreshing iced coffee, and spicy chicken devilled. The menu was carefully curated to cater
to a wide range of palates, attracting a steady stream of visitors throughout the event. Beyond the culinary
appeal, Bite Bistro reflected the creativity and teamwork of the Leos, who poured their efforts into making
the project a resounding success. Proceeds from the stall will contribute to the club’s impactful community
service initiatives.
This fundraiser showcased the club's ability to blend enthusiasm and innovation, leaving a lasting impression
on attendees while supporting a greater cause.

NCC Ground
The Leo Club of Wickramasinghepura initiated the ongoing project Nanawath Hetak on the 29th of November 2024,
with the aim of making a meaningful impact on the lives of Grade 13 students at St. Joseph's Seminary.
This initiative focuses on providing accounting lessons to students preparing for their advanced level
examinations. Understanding the importance of accounting as a foundation for their future careers, the project
seeks to bridge gaps in their knowledge and enhance their academic performance. The project will continue in
the upcoming months, ensuring that the students receive consistent guidance and support. The interactive
sessions, led by experienced Leos, combine theoretical concepts with practical examples to foster a better
understanding of the subject matter.
Through Nanawath Hetak, the Leo Club of Wickramasinghepura aspires to inspire these young minds, equipping
them with essential skills for academic success and empowering them to pursue their dreams confidently.

St. Joseph's Seminary
Playful Minds
On November 30th at 3 PM, we hosted Project Playful Minds at the LOLC Childcare Center. Led by Mrs. Amaya
Fernando, psychotherapist and a lecturer at University of Kelaniya. This session aimed to foster essential
life skills in 16 children.
Through a series of engaging team games and interactive drama sessions, the children were encouraged to
develop key skills. They learned to express thoughts and ideas clearly and effectively, collaborate with
peers, respond rapidly to challenges, and make informed decisions.
By providing a fun and supportive learning environment, we hope to empower these young individuals and equip
them with the tools they need to succeed.
